Desert Scavengers Dream.

So,,here I am a desert rat..just hiking along with my best pal “Smitty” What do we find….the last thing I thought would be out here in the middle of nowhere, Texas……..A boat!! That old abandoned ranch surely has many tales to tell…Lol !
Part of a roof..I think.
So much old stuff out there….
I think this gate is an old mattress frame…what ever works🥰
Can’t tell what is all out there..I won’t cross over an intact fence..there are no ,” No Trespassing” signs. That tells you how long it has been abandoned.

Someone’s dream and what’s left of it…Did not see anything that looked like a ranch house from where I stood..it could be out there …somewhere.

Lost Lariat Ranch

Back in Lobo, Texas for awhile..Just wanted to see the new Spring Life Blooming !

I thought these itty bitty trees were goners..but,NOPE !! They are blooming…
Sunrise…just before the dawn…
Maybe some rain coming in from the West..
Talk about the desert’s beauty…
My Yuccas are blossoming!! Gotta get to those quick…the cattle think they are candy 🍭

Visiting Homebase in Lobo, Texas

Really hit some bad weather down south this year…going to my Texas homebase for a couple weeks…stay safe out there fellow travelers and may our guardian Angels have a sense of humor upon us all✌️💜🌵🇺🇸

Neighbors visiting at my Lost Lariat Ranch 🌵

Flying Southwest

This is FM 2017 in Culberson County,Texas. One of my home bases is there–The Lost Lariat Ranch.

The area is unique mix of old time cowboy life and escapees from the city ! It is still open range which means cattle, horses and donkeys, etc. roam freely!!

It is a great life on the Lost Highway✌️

Abandoned Ranch Road

Wandering around with my pal Smitty,I spot a two track, almost completely overgrown..so, we follow it towards the mountain.

Lobo Valley, Texas

We can see at one time it was well traveled. Well graveled and it was partially fenced. It had heavy wooden fixtures on either side. Signs that a lot of people once used this Road

After some research,I believe it once led to the now closed off and private Van Horn Wells.

These photos are of a half buried old strong box.

My imagination went wild…was it from an old stagecoach…did some pioneers abandon it for some reason..???

We may never know!! But, wow, what a great find🤠
