Lost Lariat Ranch,Lobo, Texas
I really thought they wouldn’t show this year…no rain, super cold winter…the constant winds ….we lost so much of our native wildlife due to the severe climate control measures…I hope a solution will be found soon…✌️

This will be my summer time home base…the area is wide open and near the Texas mountain towns of Alpine and Guadeloupe National Park among others..lots of history here and tons of photos to be taken..!!!

May all your adventures fill your heart with 😊

Really hit some bad weather down south this year…going to my Texas homebase for a couple weeks…stay safe out there fellow travelers and may our guardian Angels have a sense of humor upon us all✌️💜🌵🇺🇸

Flying Southwest

This is FM 2017 in Culberson County,Texas. One of my home bases is there–The Lost Lariat Ranch.
The area is unique mix of old time cowboy life and escapees from the city ! It is still open range which means cattle, horses and donkeys, etc. roam freely!!
It is a great life on the Lost Highway✌️
Wandering around with my pal Smitty,I spot a two track, almost completely overgrown..so, we follow it towards the mountain.

We can see at one time it was well traveled. Well graveled and it was partially fenced. It had heavy wooden fixtures on either side. Signs that a lot of people once used this Road
After some research,I believe it once led to the now closed off and private Van Horn Wells.

My imagination went wild…was it from an old stagecoach…did some pioneers abandon it for some reason..???
We may never know!! But, wow, what a great find🤠
They came to wish me “Happy Holidays!” and told me to spread it around 🎀

Old stuff has magic. It drives imaginations. It tickles the travelin’ bone!
That is what this blog is all about! It answers the questions like; what is down that old dirt road?
What happened in this ghost town?
Why is this old homestead abandoned…it looks like they just sat down for breakfast!
Let’s see where this old trail takes us.
What’s around that bend of the mountain?
Well, I am a semi retired photojournalist and a full time dreamer,an avid camper ,(in out of the way places,) and full-time photographer..Lol! I photograph it all!! All, before it is gone forever!!
My wish is that you will follow along this Lost Highway and share with me the long lost, but not ever really forgotten past 🙂

Check back for more…
Thank you✌️
