Donkey Days

Here,at the Lost Lariat Ranch in Lobo, Texas…ya never know who is moving in….✌️

My faithful companion Smitty just wanted to play with them …he thought they were funny looking ponies..

You should have seen him when a young donkey started to run him down…. All is well..Smitty out ran the little donkey to the safety of our fence🤠. Such is life on the open Range ❤️

Getting there steady and sure .
This is a great time of year to hike the mountain trails in the Lobo Valley..almost to the top!

Almost Thanksgiving Day and just starting to warm up again,,!

We had a very unusual cold snap and boy,was it cold !!

I want to wish everyone a safe journey home or if you are staying put…the best Thanksgiving Day ever!!Thank you, BettyShea.

Things You Find in the Desert.

In the Chihuahuan Desert the usual things you suspect out there…are here!

Occasionally,there are surprises

🌵

Have you ever seen a vulture skull?

Me either, till my dog brought me this!! To my horror I thought it was a baby cattle skull, born with no eyes,!!

A more experienced desert rat calmed my nerves and gently explained what it really was..lol!!

This is a fixer upper long abandoned .
Not sure what this is but,it curled up and played dead when I approached.
Oasis in the deserts really do exist!! This one is gorgeous…you have to fight with the cattle for shade..lol!! Not really, but they do give you looks!
A handmade trough wall dated 1938
An Ink Top mushroom,! They only live for about 24 hours! They are called ink top because should you touch one,it instantly dissolved into a Black liquid.

Thank you for stopping by.. see ya again soon,. BettyShea

Old Stuff

Old stuff has magic. It drives imaginations. It tickles the travelin’ bone!

That is what this blog is all about! It answers the questions like; what is down that old dirt road?

What happened in this ghost town?

Why is this old homestead abandoned…it looks like they just sat down for breakfast!

Let’s see where this old trail takes us.

What’s around that bend of the mountain?

Well, I am a semi retired photojournalist and a full time dreamer,an avid camper ,(in out of the way places,) and full-time photographer..Lol! I photograph it all!! All, before it is gone forever!!

My wish is that you will follow along this Lost Highway and share with me the long lost, but not ever really forgotten past 🙂

That is me BettyShea in a wash Lobo, Texas
